I have a LinkedIn account. I filled out everything, essentially translating my resume to their website. Professional experience, education, hobbies, etc, all of these things I put up there with pride. And I've had the account for years. The one thing that I didn't put up was a picture. I never had a "professional" picture taken, you know, one that you wouldn't mind showing your current or future employer. I've had a task to take a "selfie" and post it up there so that it would make my account more complete. But I never liked the way I looked in pictures. I always thought I was too fat.
My company has a photo club. I talked to one of the members yesterday and asked if I could borrow a tripod so I could work on that picture for my account. She offered to do a photo shoot for me, right before the club members were to shoot pics of motorcycles.
